7-10 Days Sweden & Norway

10 days/8 nights - from $1,499 per person including airfare from JFK
Originally$2899 Now$1499 Saving49% Remaining720 Days
Discover the vibrant capitals Stockholm and Oslo and go on a journey through the magnificent and breathtaking landscapes of Norway! Some of the highlights of this trip will be the Bergen Railway, the Flåm Railway, the Aurlandsfjord, the Nærøyfjord and the steep Stalheimskleiva road. This tour will finish in the beautiful city of Bergen, the second largest city of Norway. Starting at $1,899 per person from JFK. Or choose to visit Norway only for $1,499.
OPTION 1: NORWAY ONLY

Day 1:

Depart JFK and arrive in Oslo the next day.

Day 2: Arrive in Oslo
Arrive in Oslo. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Arable fields, vast forests and the untouched nature areas surrounding the city are only twenty minutes from the center. They provide recreational opportunities that are frequently taken advantage of by the city’s inhabitants, as well as increasingly by visitors. Transfer on your own to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Transfer available via airport express train to downtown Oslo - approximately $22 per person to be purchased upon arrival.) Accommodation at Comfort hotel Børsparken, Rica Hotel, or similar.

Day 3: Oslo
Breakfast in the hotel. This day is at your leisure. Oslo offers many well-known sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, and the Munch Museum. We recommend the Oslo Panorama Sightseeing tour, a 1½ hour non-stop tour through the central parts of the city ($40 per person - can be reserved ahead of time). Guiding is done in nine different languages through individual headphones. Accommodation at Comfort hotel Børsparken, Rica Hotel, or similar.

Day 4: Oslo – Myrdal – Flåm (train)
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure from Oslo by train. The journey from Oslo to Myrdal is part of the Oslo – Bergen railway, one of the finest train journeys in the world. This railway connects the two largest cities in Norway and shows the diversity of the Norwegian landscape. In Myrdal you will change to the Flåm Railway. The Flåm Railway passes through wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountainsides from a height of 900 meters and down to the Sognafjord. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that is so steep over a long distance. Accommodation at Fretheim hotel or similar.

Day 5: Flåm – Sognefjord – Bergen (train/boat/bus)
Breakfast at the hotel. From Flåm you continue by boat on the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe, and has recently been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. From Gudvangen the journey continues by bus through Nærøyfjord Valley and up the Stalheimskleiva, with its 13 steep hairpin bends (Stalheimskleiva is only open during the summer). The last part of the excursion will be by train from Voss to Bergen, Norway’s second largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Accommodation at Grand Hotel Terminus or similar.

Day 6: Bergen
Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your leisure. Bergen is, with good reason, called the Gateway to the Fjords. The city is located on the west coast of Norway with close proximity to the famous Norwegian fjords. Sights of interest are the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbour, Fløibanen Funicular, Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower market, Bergen Aquarium and Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen Open Air Museum). Accommodation at Grand Hotel Terminus or similar.

Day 7: Departure from Bergen
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer on your own from your hotel to the airport for your return flight back to the US. (Transfer available from Bergen Airport Bus - bus station across from the hotel - approximately $12 per person to be purchased upon arrival).

OPTION 2: SWEDEN & NORWAY

Day 1:

Depart JFK for Sweden.

Day 2: Arrival in Sweden
Arrival into Stockholm and transfer on your own to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation at Comfort Hotel Stockholm or similar.

Day 3 & 4: Stockholm
During these days, you will have the opportunity to explore and admire the city of Stockholm, a charming northern European capital. Do not miss the Vasa Museum, the stunning city center, the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and much more is waiting for you. We recommend a sightseeing tour by buss or boat. Accommodation at Comfort hotel Stockholm or similar.

Day 5: Depart Stockholm & Arrive in Oslo
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own to the airport for your flight to Oslo. Arrive in Oslo.
